Air Quality Programs
At WRCOG, clean air is not just a goal, it’s a passion. WRCOG’s Clean Cities Coalition has been recognized by the United States Department of Energy as one of the top performers in the nation.
Partnering with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), WRCOG helped develop a model document for planners to use when evaluating air quality issues.
In addition to promoting the use of clean alternative fuels advanced technologies, WRCOG also works to help develop policy for the goods movement industry to reduce impacts to air quality from warehouse and distribution facilities. WRCOG’s Regional Air Quality Task Force, drawing members from local jurisdictions, industry, SCAQMD, and environmental groups, has developed a “Good Neighbor” policy related to the siting of warehouse and distribution centers in the region.
