Car Care for Clean Air
“Car Care for Clean Air” Community Events: The The “Car Care for Clean Air” community events program are annual events designed to increase public awareness about the benefits of preventative maintenance and features a free vehicle check lane which conducts vehicle inspections as well as emissions testing and provides the results of their tests to the motorists.
An event booklet called Residents Guide to Alternative Fuels and Other Fuel Efficient Technologies is disseminated and was developed specifically for residents who are unfamiliar with current alternative fuel and advanced technologies. This booklet offers a library of information on alternative fuels used nationally, local alternative fueling stations, and pictures and data of available OEM alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles.
In addition, residents are able to view alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles that are showcased at the events and have their questions answered regarding the technologies.
In October of 2006, the Coalition received a South Coast AQMD Clean Air Award in the category of Public Education on Air Quality Issues for our “Car Care for Clean Air” community events program.
