Mowers that Run on Propane
A partnership between Heritage Propane, Metro Lawn Mowers, and Bemus Landscaping
Bemus Landscape, a landscaping company located in San Clemente, CA, with operations in Riverside County, recently converted 7 of their heavy duty lawn mowers from gasoline to propane and purchased a propane powered Roush Ford F series truck. The Western Riverside County Clean Cities Coalition (Coalition) was instrumental in providing outreach for the partnership effort and facilitating the conversion process as a bridge between Bemus Landscape and Metro Lawn.

Making Riverside Electric Vehicle Friendly
Electric vehicle charger installation project
The City of Riverside is currently installing 13 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in 7 different locations throughout the City. Installation of all stations is set to be completed by November 2011 and fully operational by December, 1, 2011. These EV charging stations are the first Level 2 stations to be installed in Western Riverside County. The Western Riverside County Clean Cities (Coalition) was instrumental in securing funding for this project. Due to the City’s active involvement in the Coalition, the City was able to secure grant funds from the Department of Energy (DOE), California Energy Commission (CEC), and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD). Without these funds, the project would not have been able to proceed.
