Advancing the Choice

 

Plug-In Electric Vehicle (PEV) Workshop – September 28, 2011

The Western Riverside County Clean Cities Coalition PEV workshop was held on September 28, 2011, and was co-sponsored by Southern California Edison (SCE) and Enterprise. It covered topics such as electric vehicle (EV) charger installation permitting processes, PEV readiness efforts made by SCE, and the “WeCar” car sharing program presented by Enterprise. The Workshop also addressed State funding sources for PEVs, including the Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Program (HVIP). Those in attendance included city planners, fleet managers, utilities, businesses, and non-profits.

Attendees also had a chance to test some of the newest PEVs on the market, including the:

  • Nissan Leaf
  • Chevrolet Volt
  • Mitsubishi I-MiEV
  • Vantage EVP1000 Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV)
  • Ford Transit Connect Electric

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Workshop Series

The goal of the LNG Workshop series is to promote the use of LNG in trucking associated with local warehouse and distribution centers. The workshops provide attendees with information on alternative fuel technologies, vehicles, and incentive programs provided through the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Three workshops have been held, and one more is planned for early next year, date and location to be determined. Dates of past meetings include:
